These things show up in my toilet after it rains. Any idea what they are?

The mystery invaders weren’t worms or parasites at all, but tadpoles — the baby stage of frogs quietly using the toilet as an accidental pond. Heavy rain drives frogs to search desperately for still water where their eggs can survive. An unused bowl, an open window, a forgotten drain cover: that’s all it takes for your bathroom to become part of their life cycle.

Once the eggs hatch, the tiny tadpoles drift in the water, shocking anyone who discovers them. They are harmless, but deeply unsettling when you’re not expecting them. You can simply flush them away or gently scoop and release them into a nearby pond or ditch. Closing the lid, sealing nearby drains, and screening windows helps keep them out. Sometimes what feels like a horror scene is just nature, quietly insisting on surviving in the strangest of places.
