WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday that US forces fired on and seized a cargo ship with an Iranian flag after it tried to pass the US naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman.
“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them,” Trump wrote in his post.
Trump’s announcement comes as he accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreements with its actions in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has blocked the passage of most ships through the strait again, alleging the US “breached” their trust.
