Tragic Death of 2-Year-Old Arkansas Girl Shakes Local Community

Two-year-old Ava Ann Marie Tabor, a bright and joyful child from De Queen, Arkansas, was tragically killed on March 4, 2025. At the time of the incident, Ava was under the care of 19-year-old babysitter Wesley Davis in Lockesburg. Known for her radiant smile, love of music, and playful spirit, Ava brought happiness to everyone around her. Her sudden death has left her family and the entire community in shock and mourning.

According to police reports, Davis initially told authorities that Ava was found unresponsive. However, after further investigation and questioning, he confessed to physically assaulting the toddler. As a result, the charges against him were upgraded to first-degree murder. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond, and a strict no-contact order has been issued to prevent him from contacting Ava’s family or any potential witnesses.

Ava’s mother, Kylie Perez, has been outspoken about her devastation, sharing her pain and grief on social media. In one emotional post, she wrote, “YOU TOOK MY WORLD,” expressing the unimaginable loss of her daughter. She vowed to fight for justice and to ensure that Ava’s memory will never be forgotten.

The heartbreaking case has stirred strong emotions across the state and beyond, with an outpouring of sympathy from strangers and loved ones alike. Authorities have also reported receiving threats directed at Davis, prompting officials to remind the public to respect due process and allow the justice system to run its course.

In an extraordinary act of generosity amidst profound tragedy, Ava’s family made the decision to donate her organs, allowing her life to bring hope and healing to other children in need. Ava’s funeral is scheduled for March 13, 2025, in De Queen, Arkansas, where the community will gather to honor her short but impactful life. Her story has touched many hearts, and the call for justice and remembrance continues to echo throughout the region
