What should have marked the joyous beginning of a new life instead culminated in death and deceit in the hills of Shillong, India. On May 20, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi arrived in the picturesque city for his honeymoon with his new wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. A few days later, he was discovered deceased, his body in a state of decomposition within a secluded canyon—stripped of his identification, wedding ring, and life.
Initially, the police suspected Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s purported lover. However, a more thorough investigation unveiled a far more sinister truth: Sonam herself orchestrated the entire scheme.
Authorities assert that she deceived Raj with false assurances of love and enlisted three accomplices—Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput—promising them financial incentives for Raja’s assassination.
Sonam monitored Raja’s whereabouts, directing the assailants. He was likely ambushed and forced into the gorge between May 23 and 24. Subsequently, Raj returned to Indore, anticipating a reunion with Sonam—only to face betrayal once more. She was clandestinely involved with another man and had intentions to eliminate Raj as well.
