In 1967, Truett Cathy opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Mall. This is where the diner used to be located. This tiny, 384-square-foot restaurant was one of the first to open in a food court in the shape it has now. It was also one of the first fast food places.

This eatery was one of the first to do this. An establishment quickly grew from a small diner to a large fast-food business with locations across the country and a loyal customer base.
The first Chick-fil-A restaurant has a special place in Chick-fil-A history. It is a symbol of the creativity that led the company to open locations in 47 states and the District of Columbia. This store has a lot of history for Chick-fil-A.
