During a heartfelt episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Mark Consuelos shared that he and Kelly Ripa had to say goodbye to their beloved 17-year-old dog, Chewie.

Chewie had been struggling with serious health issues and had recently stopped eating. The couple made the difficult decision out of love and concern for their pet’s well-being.

Ripa became emotional as Consuelos spoke about Chewie growing up alongside their children. The dog had been a part of the family for nearly two decades, making the loss especially painful.

Despite her grief, Ripa expressed deep gratitude for the years they had with Chewie. She recalled moments of kindness from their neighbors and mail carrier, who came to say goodbye.

She also found brief moments of humor, reminding the audience of the love and joy Chewie brought into their lives.

Consuelos was visibly moved but stayed strong for his wife and the audience.

“We’re going to get through it all together,” he said, offering comfort and support.
