Dick Van Dyke shared an update on his situation amid the ongoing Franklin wildfire, which has impacted his residence, recently featured in a Coldplay music video.
Veteran actor Dick Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, have evacuated their Malibu home as the fast-moving Franklin Fire wreaks havoc across Southern California. Van Dyke shared the emotional update on Facebook, revealing that one of their pets, a cat named Bobo, escaped during the evacuation.
Their residence in the celebrity-filled Serra Retreat neighborhood recently gained attention as the setting for Coldplay’s “All My Love” music video, in which Van Dyke appeared.
“I’m acutely aware that I’m, you know, could go any day now, but I don’t know why—it doesn’t concern me. I’m not afraid of it. I have that feeling, totally against anything intellectual I am, that I’m going to be all right,” Van Dyke reflected in the clip.
Now, the 98-year-old actor’s home is among those at risk as the fire, reportedly driven by powerful Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, spreads through Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains.
