Beloved NFL Legend Passes Away

Former Steelers Guard Craig Wolfley Dies at 66

Craig Wolfley, former Pittsburgh Steelers guard and longtime broadcaster, passed away Monday at 66.

Wolfley played 10 seasons with the Steelers before finishing his career in Minnesota. After retiring, he became a beloved TV and radio personality, serving as the Steelers’ sideline reporter before becoming their radio color analyst in 2022, succeeding his late friend Tunch Ilkin.

Steelers owner Art Rooney praised Wolfley’s toughness on the field and his passion as a broadcaster, calling him a “beloved member of the Steelers family.”

Drafted in 1980 out of Syracuse, Wolfley also excelled in weightlifting and boxing, placing fifth in the 1981 World’s Strongest Man competition and later competing against Butterbean.

Most recently, he co-hosted In the Locker Room with Wolf and Max on Fox Sports Pittsburgh.

He is survived by his wife, Faith, and their six children.
