Rumors have been swirling that Angelina Jolie has found love again, this time with British rapper Akala. The speculation about their romantic involvement has made headlines in recent months. However, sources close to both Jolie and Akala have clarified that they are just friends and have not been romantically involved.
A source told People that Akala is actually in a relationship with someone else, and that person is also friends with Jolie. The trio reportedly works together, and Akala’s partner attends events with them.
Despite these statements, some publications claim that Jolie and Akala are indeed a couple. The Sun reported that the actress secretly invited the rapper to her hotel suite during a recent event in London.
A source told The Sun, “Angelina and Akala have been secretly spending nights together at her London hotel, The Corinthia. Angelina arrived at the hotel via the loading bay around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and Akala joined her at around 10 p.m. They spent both Wednesday and Thursday night together and did not leave the hotel.”
The source continued, “Akala was sneaked out of the hotel in one of Angelina’s cars on Friday, just a couple of hours before the premiere of her new movie at the BFI film festival. They’ve been using separate cars and secret entrances to keep their relationship private, but it’s the real deal.”
Jolie is also reportedly keen on getting to know Akala’s sister, British rapper Ms. Dynamite. “They were introduced through a charitable project they were both involved with, and Angelina has taken an interest in learning more about his activism and loves his sister’s music,” said the source.
In September 2024, Jolie and Akala were photographed together, accompanied by Jolie’s son Pax, 20, whom she shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
Brad and Angelina were together from 2004, and had a 12-year relationship and two-year marriage, as well as six children together, both adopted and biological.
Angelina’s connection to Akala dates back to November 2023, where they were seen leaving a restaurant in Milan while Angelina was filming her new biopic.
This August, Akala joined Angelina at the Venice Film Festival, where Maria first premiered, before leaving a hotel together.
At the beginning of October, he was in the crowd as Angelina took to the stage in New York for an event for her company, Atelier Jolie.
Celebrating artist Mustafa at 57 Great Jones, hosting a special listening party and panel discussion for his debut album, Dunya, Angelina took to the stage for a Q+A.
While they weren’t photographed together, Akala was a notable attendee with a photograph posted of him watching the discussion on the official Instagram.
It’s believed that the pair have become close friends over the years thanks to their shared political and social causes.
TMZ have reported that Akala has a girlfriend, who remains out of the public eye, but she is also close to Angelina with the trio “good friends”.
