Björnsson, 35, is a record-breaking Icelandic strongman who made history by winning the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe’s Strongest Man, and the World’s Strongest Man all in a single year—a feat no one else has ever achieved. Standing an eye-popping 6-foot-9, Thor’s presence is impossible to miss, whether he’s dominating in strength competitions or taking on acting roles in films like The Northman, Operation Ragnarok, and Pharaoh’s War.
But off the stage and screen, it’s his family life that has intrigued fans, especially given the striking difference in height between him and his wife. “After noticing a decline in her movements, we learned that her heart had stopped. The pain of losing her is indescribable, yet we are so grateful for the precious moments we had with our daughter. She was absolutely beautiful… the love we feel for her is immense. Though our grief will stay with us forever, so too will our love. Her spirit continues to live on through us and her siblings.”
Despite their tragedy, the couple continues to build their family. They share a three-year-old son, Stormur, while Björnsson is also father to a daughter, Theresa Líf, from a previous relationship.
