Billie Eilish reportedly experienced a loss of 100,000 followers on Instagram within an hour following the posting of a single photograph.

The 22-year-old rose to prominence with her track ‘Ocean Eyes,’ which gained viral attention on SoundCloud in 2015.

She has since become a music phenomenon, achieving seven top 10 hits and receiving numerous accolades, including nine Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards, among others.

Eilish, alongside her brother and co-collaborator Finneas O’Connell, has also contributed to the soundtracks of some of the most significant recent films, such as the James Bond film No Time to Die and Barbie.

However, similar to many celebrities, Eilish has faced backlash from fans, which once led to a significant decline in her social media following.

Eilish has been in the spotlight since her youth, and while her fame and success continue to grow, it has often been accompanied by criticism.

Over the years, her fans have witnessed the artist’s evolution as she has experimented with her appearance and style, transitioning from green to red hair.

In 2021, around the release of her forthcoming album ‘Happier Than Ever,’ Eilish unveiled a new look on the cover of British Vogue.

She was depicted with blonde bombshell hair and a corset, a style that some fans cherished, while others expressed disapproval.

One individual remarked: “I used to love Billie until she changed.”

Another commented: “Bring back the green hair!”

During that time, Eilish took to Instagram to respond to her detractors.

The singer stated (according to CBS): “I spent the first 5 years of my career getting absolutely obliterated by you fools for being boyish and dressing how I did and constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman.

“And now when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I changed and am a sellout.”

She further added: “I can be both.”

In 2020, Eilish engaged in the ‘post a picture’ trend, prompting fans to request that the singer share a ‘drawing you’re really proud of,’ according to reports from The Independent.

At the time, the 19-year-old artist revealed a page from her sketchbook that included a drawing of breasts and nude women.

She remarked: “These probably lol I love b**bs.”

Following this post, Eilish’s follower count on Instagram reportedly fell by about 100,000, decreasing from 73 million to 72.9 million.

In reaction, the artist known for ‘everything i wanted’ took to her stories to express: “LMFAOOO y’all babies smh.”
