On Friday, President Donald Trump announced that he is revoking former President Joe Biden’s security clearances and halting his daily intelligence briefings.
Trump stated in a Truth Social post, “Joe Biden no longer needs access to classified information.” The decision to revoke these privileges will take effect immediately.
Trump further explained that this action follows a precedent set by Biden himself. He noted that in 2021, Biden had instructed the Intelligence Community to deny Trump access to national security details, a privilege usually extended to former presidents.
Trump also referenced the Hur Report, which, according to him, revealed Biden’s “poor memory” and inability to be trusted with sensitive information, even during his “prime.”
The Hur Report, submitted by Special Counsel Robert Hur, examined Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified records, highlighting his memory issues and suggesting that his motivations for retaining documents were influenced by “pride and money.” However, Hur did not recommend criminal charges.
Trump concluded his post by reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding National Security, writing, “JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
