A farewell to two legends: The brotherly love that brings the world to tears.”

On July 4th, 2020, the world said goodbye to Ronnie and Donnie Galyon, the most famous conjoined twins in history. Born in 1951, the brothers spent every moment of their 68 years together—face-to-face, heart-to-heart, and side-by-side through every challenge and triumph. Their story is one of resilience, adventure, and an unbreakable bond that defied the odds.

Ronnie and Donnie entered the world in Dayton, Ohio, in a way that would define their lives: Ronnie came out headfirst; Donnie, feet first. They were joined at the sternum, sharing a lower digestive tract, but each had his own heart, stomach, and legs. Doctors told their parents the twins might not survive long, but Ronnie and Donnie proved everyone wrong. From their first breaths, their lives were a testament to the strength of family and the power of adaptation. Their parents faced enormous medical bills and, searching for a way to support their sons, made a difficult decision: Ronnie and Donnie would travel as sideshow attractions in circuses across America. The twins quickly became stars, drawing crowds wherever they went—not for their differences, but for their infectious personalities and brotherly banter.

Ronnie and Donnie did everything together. They learned to walk, eat, and even shave each other in the mornings. They developed an uncanny ability to cooperate, yet each brother maintained his own opinions and quirks. The only thing they ever did separately? Watch TV—each had his own favorite programs.
