JOKE OF THE DAY: The Elevator Ride That Took a Very Unexpected Turn

As they stepped out of the crowded elevator, Mrs. Wilson was fuming. Her husband, meanwhile, looked completely stunned—still trying to process what had just happened.

They walked in silence toward the parking lot for a few seconds before Mrs. Wilson finally snapped.

“Unbelievable!” she said. “In front of everyone? Really?”

Mr. Wilson stopped in his tracks, raising both hands. “I swear, I didn’t do anything!”

Mrs. Wilson crossed her arms. “Oh, so she just imagined it?”

“I have no idea what she’s talking about!” he insisted. “I didn’t pinch anyone!”

Just then, a man who had also been in the elevator hurried up behind them.

“Excuse me, sir… ma’am… I think there’s been a misunderstanding.”

Both of them turned.

“What do you mean?” Mrs. Wilson asked sharply.

The man cleared his throat, looking slightly embarrassed. “Well… it’s just… I think that slap was meant for me.”

Mr. Wilson blinked. “You?”

The man nodded sheepishly. “Yeah… it was really crowded in there, and I may have… uh… lost track of where my hand was for a second.”

Mrs. Wilson’s eyes widened. “You’re saying you did it?”

He shrugged. “I didn’t mean to cause trouble, but when she turned around, your husband was the one closest to her, so…”

Mr. Wilson stared at him, speechless. Then slowly, very slowly, he turned to his wife.

“See?” he said. “Told you I didn’t do anything.”

Mrs. Wilson looked back and forth between the two men, her anger fading into awkward silence.

“Well…” she muttered, “that’s… unfortunate.”

The stranger gave an apologetic smile and quickly walked off toward his car.

Mr. Wilson folded his arms and gave his wife a look. “So… do I get an apology?”

She sighed, shaking her head. “Fine. I’m sorry.”

He smiled smugly. “That’s what I thought.”

They continued walking in silence for a moment.

Then Mrs. Wilson suddenly stopped again.

“Wait a second…”

Mr. Wilson turned. “What now?”

She narrowed her eyes. “If it was that guy… why were you smiling the whole time in the elevator?”

Mr. Wilson froze.

“…It was a very comfortable elevator,” he said carefully.

Mrs. Wilson raised an eyebrow.

And just like that… round two began.
