Gayle King speaks out on Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance: ‘Somebody knows something’

Gayle King is once again speaking out on the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie.

“Somebody knows something,” the “CBS Mornings” host exclusively tells Page Six’s Desiree Murphy at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Super Bowl party in San Francisco on Saturday.

She added, “Now is the time for that somebody to speak up.”

King, 71, previously spoke out on the crisis on Thursday, calling the situation “unimaginable.”

“We’re starting things a little differently this morning because, like you, we’re all waking up this morning with very heavy hearts — praying for our friend and our colleague, Savannah Guthrie,” she said during Thursday’s episode of “CBS Mornings.”

“Her mom Nancy is still missing at this hour and late last night, the Guthrie family went public with a very emotional message.”

King then became emotional, calling Nancy’s disappearance “an unimaginable situation for the Guthrie family.”

“Savannah just got to me where she says ‘mommy,’” she said, referencing the “Today” show anchor’s social media video with brother Camron and sister Annie on Wednesday. “To hear a grown woman say, ‘Mommy, we’re all looking for you.’ Everybody’s looking for her.”

“This is something that none of us can imagine having to do,” King continued.

King called the alleged kidnapping “so frightening and so disturbing,” and said she “can’t stop thinking about Savannah and her siblings putting that video message out.”

“Your heart can’t help but break for her,” she said. King also noted the mother-daughter bond the anchor shares with Nancy. “We all know how close she was to her mother,” she told viewers.

“You keep seeing those pictures over and over and over again. We’re trying to make sense of something that makes no sense. And that’s why we keep struggling and gasping for something. Help us understand how this is happening, why this is happening and what we can do about it?”

She added, “It’s so, so, so scary to me.”

Nancy, 84, was last seen on Saturday evening after being dropped off at her Tucson, Arizona home following a family outing. She was reported missing on Sunday after failing to attend church.

On Monday, authorities said they were treating the home of the Guthrie matriarch as a crime scene. Police believe she was “taken from the home against her will.” On Saturday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said: “This remains an active and ongoing investigation, which includes the review of multiple pieces of evidence.

“At this time, we will not confirm or release additional details regarding what is being analyzed.”

“As mentioned, numerous times, it is standard practice to seek any video available from nearby residences or businesses, that is part of the ongoing investigation.”

Police also seized a vehicle parked inside Nancy’s garage, as well as a camera on her roof after a neighbor submitted a tip, and TMZ reported a floodlight was apparently removed from her back door.

Earlier this week, TMZ reported to have received an alleged ransom note demanding millions in Bitcoin in exchange for the return of Savannah’s mother.

Earlier this week, FBI Phoenix Special Agent Heith Janke shared during a media conference that a ransom note demanded a “transfer” be sent by a 5 p.m. MT deadline that day.

The siblings took to social media again on Saturday with a new video.

“We received your message and we understand,” the anchor said in the somber video.

“We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her,” she continued. “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
