When Jelly Roll Took the Stage at the Grammy Awards, What Began as a Career-Defining Victory Quickly Became the Most Emotional and Unexpected Moment of the Night, as the Best Contemporary Country Album Winner Set His Trophy Down and Spoke From the Heart About Faith, Redemption, and the Belief That Jesus Is for Everyone

Jelly Roll’s overtly religious acceptance speech at the 2026 Grammys has left liberals seething as they flocked to social media to accuse the star of ‘religious psychosis.’

The 41-year-old country crooner took to the stage after winning the award for Best Contemporary Country Album at Sunday night’s ceremony held in Los Angeles.

His 2024 album Beautifully Broken beat out the likes of Miranda Lambert, Tyler Childers, Eric Church and Kelsea Ballerini for the top country prize.

Jelly Roll spent much of his emotional speech talking about Jesus and how Christianity, like music, ‘changed [his] life.’

He added to the faith-fueled moment by holding up a small bible for the crowd to see.

‘I believe that music had the power to change my life, and God had the power to change my life,’ he told the crowd of A-listers with his shiny gold Grammy in hand.

‘I want to tell y’all right now: Jesus is for everybody, Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no … label. Jesus is Jesus.’

‘I would have never changed my life without you,’ Jelly Roll told Bunnie Xo, who was seated in the audience.

‘I would’ve ended up dead or in jail. I would’ve killed myself if it weren’t for you and Jesus.’

He continued: ‘There was a time in my life that I was broken. That’s why I wrote this album. I didn’t think I had a chance.

‘There was days that I thought the darkest things.’

Along with his country win, Jelly Roll also took home the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for his collaboration with fellow country star Shaboozey titled Amen.

While many Grammy viewers were moved by Jelly Roll's words, the star's critics were out in full force as they cruelly accused him of suffering from 'religious psychosis'

Bad Bunny made a strong statement against the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as he accepted the top honor at the 2026 Grammy Awards on a night that Hollywood expressed many anti-ICE sentiments.

Other winners including Billie Eilish and Olivia Dean – who led the star-studded red carpet – used their shining moments to honor immigrants and blast the law enforcement agency under the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Many artists at the event wore ‘ICE out’ pins in protest of the controversial agency after the killings of Keith Porter in LA and Renée Good and the VA ICU nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis at the hands of its agents.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican global superstar – born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – beat out a very competitive field as he took home Best Album for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

Bad Bunny – who will be performing at the Super Bowl LX Half-time Show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California next week – was obviously emotional as he cried as he sat down for several seconds with his head in his hand in disbelief after his name was called.

Then during his speech he sent a powerful message as he said: ‘I want to dedicate this award to all the people that had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams.’

Elsewhere in his acceptance speech, Jelly Roll gave an emotional shout-out to his longtime wife Bunnie Xo for helping him turn his life around

For the biggest honor of the night, he faced a highly-competitive field which included: Justin Bieber – SWAG, Sabrina Carpenter – Man’s Best Friend, Clipse, Pusha T and Malice – Let God Sort Em Out, Lady Gaga – MAYHEM, Kendrick Lamar – GNX, Leon Thomas – MUTT, and Tyler, The Creator – CHROMAKOPIA.

That was not his only political statement as earlier in the night, the artist’s first words were ‘ICE out’ when he hit the podium to accept Best Música Urbana Album for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

The NUEVAYoL hitmaker said: ‘Before I say thanks to god, I’m going to say, ICE Out.’

He received a massive ovation from the crowd before he continued his speech by saying that immigrants and Puerto Ricans are not savage, animals, or aliens and that they are in fact, Americans.

Billie Eilish also expressed similar political sentiments earlier in the night as she even used profane language which was bleeped out by network censors.

The 24-year-old Los Angeles native – born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell – was emotional as she earned Song Of The Year for WILDFLOWER while accompanied by brother FINNEAS.

During her speech she said: ‘As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land.

‘And, yeah, it’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter. That’s all I’m going to say. Sorry. Thank you so much. I can’t believe this.’

The room went quiet when Jelly Roll took the mic at the 2026 GRAMMYs. Fresh off his third GRAMMY win, the cheers faded as he looked out into the crowd — straight at his “beautiful wife,” Bunnie Xo — and everything changed. This wasn’t a victory lap. It was a confession. Jelly Roll spoke about a life once swallowed by darkness, mistakes, and survival — and the love that pulled him back. His voice cracked as he thanked Bunnie for standing beside him when no one else would, when belief was fragile and hope felt out of reach. Then came the line that stopped the room cold: “Jesus is for everybody.” No politics. No divisions. Just grace, redemption, and love — spoken from a man who lived the opposite and made it back. People were crying. Bunnie was crying. Even the room felt different.

Budweiser just did what only Budweiser knows how to do — and reminded everyone why its Super Bowl ads still own American emotion. From the first notes of “Free Bird,” the tone is set. Sweeping landscapes. Iconic Clydesdales. A quiet sense of pride that builds without shouting. It doesn’t rush. It lets the feeling settle — and then it hits. Fans are already calling it one of the brand’s most powerful commercials ever, not because it tries to say something… but because it shows it. Every image adds another layer of meaning, another pulse of nostalgia, resilience, and identity. And then comes the final moment. No words. No explanation. Just a single image that feels heavy in the best way — the kind that makes people rewind, sit still, and feel something they didn’t expect. People aren’t just watching this ad. They’re replaying it. Arguing about it. Feeling it.
